BEETHOVEN - THE LEGEND OF COMPONIST THAT LOSE HIS HEARING

German composer Ludwig van Beethoven is considered one of the most important figures in the history of music. He continued to compose even while losing his hearing and created some of his greatest works after becoming totally deaf.

Early years in Bonn
Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany, on December 16, 1770. He was the eldest of three children of Johann and Maria Magdalena van Beethoven. His father, a musician who liked to drink, taught him to play piano and violin. Young Ludwig was often pulled out of bed in the middle of the night and ordered to perform for his father's drinking companions, suffering beatings if he protested. As Beethoven developed, it became clear that to reach artistic maturity he would have to leave Bonn for a major musical center.
At the age of twelve Beethoven was a promising keyboard player and a talented pupil in composition of the court organist Christian Gottlob Neefe (1748–1798). He even filled in as church organist when Neefe was out of town. In 1783 Beethoven's first published work, a set of keyboard pieces, appeared, and in the 1780s he produced portions of a number of later works. In 1787 he traveled to Vienna, Austria, apparently to seek out Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756–1791) as a teacher.

The Lip Trill Voice Warm Up Exercise

Pretend that you are underwater. Imagine blowing air out from your lips, feeling the vibrating sensation of your lips as air exits from your lungs.

Perform this same motion, only this time you are outside the water. Relax your lips as you release air from your mouth. Your diaphragm muscles should control the release of air. It sometimes help to place one hand against either side of jaw to focus the passage of air on vibrating the lips.
Special note: avoid blowing air from your mouth using your lip muscles. Your lips should be completely relaxed and air should be moved through the mouth using your diaphragm.
This video will guide you about what a lip trill should sound like.

Once you are able to perform the lip trill successfully, practice trilling a single note.

AUSTIN, Texas — Do you know where all your DNA is?
From stray hairs to wads of gum, people shed their cells in public spaces all the time. And that physical detritus contains a surprising amount of information, experts say.
Because DNA can reveal so much about the person who left it behind, its casual presence everywhere could endanger people's security and privacy, Heather Dewey-Hagborg, said here Friday (March 13) at the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive festival.
"The very things that make us human — our bodies and cells — become a liability," said Dewey-Hagborg, an artist and programmer at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
